Howto write a driver/improve on kernel

I know that this have been answered before, but I can't
find the mail... GNUS is _SO_ slow when it have to wade
through 1000's of mails...

I've wanted to learn how to write drivers etc for linux,
but I'd never had the time to...

Is there any online doc's about how one does this?
(There is of cource the 'SCSI-Programming-HOWTO' and
'Serial-Programming-HOWTO', but that's not exacly what
I need)
