There is a bit in ext2fs that says "do safe deletion on this file".
Don't set that for files you really don't need to keep....
Check out the patch that I made quite some time ago. It's been
implemented. It's pretty easy. I just don't find it important enough
to bug Linus about including this in the standard kernel.
Instead of posting messages to linux-kernel, your time would be better
spent cleaning it up, and preparing a merger into the standard kernel.
The code is out there..... (Sorry, I don't keep local copies. The net is
my backup device for things like this... :-)
