Old code in 2.1.x? Is UMSDOS pseudoroot planned for 2.2?

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Is is planned to reimplement the pseudoroot code for UMSDOS for 2.2?

I just now tried to upgrade a small UMSDOS machine on my network to test out
2.1.121 and noticed the pseudoroot access was gone.

I've noticed a few drivers I use a lot in the 2.1 code have been taken from
old source trees. The Lance driver is v1.09 in 2.1.121 and v1.14 in 2.0.35.
It doesn't have module support any more in the 2.1 tree.

Is there a problem with drivers having been split early from the 2.0 tree and
not getting the updates in 2.1 that they got in 2.0? Is this a "pick a driver
and get to work" type of effort than I can help with, or are these covered in
current freezes?
