That might be a Good Thing(tm) to do, since that would
increase I/O throughput on a loaded (CPU wise or otherwise)
system. This in turn makes sure that tasks don't hang
around longer than they should and it might result in
better overall system performance.

This is (IMHO) definately something to look into.
