The ESS1868 chipset is 100% compatible with the "real" Soundblaster
chipset.

modprobe sb io=0x220 mpu_io=0x330 dma=1 dma16=-1 irq=5

should do the trick - if you want to use kmod, add
options sb io=0x220 mpu_io=0x330 dma=1 dma16=-1 irq=5
alias mixer sb
alias dsp sb
alias sound sb

to your /etc/modules.conf
