Hi, ladies and gentlemen:

I have a problem when trying to install Red Hat 5.1 on my
homebrew box. I am using an NCR875-based UW-SCSI controller and a
CD-ROM and two drives: one Seagate Hawk 4 SCA (with a 80-to-68 pin
adapter) 4GB, and a Seagate Elite 9 Wide 9GB.

The problem is that the install process hangs when trying to
probe the SCSI bus. When I try to look at the messages, I realise a
kernel panic has taken place because the Elite 9 uses a sector/block
size of 2068 (?!) and the kernel is unable to access it.

Is anyone else using an Elite 9 and can someone supply a way
around the problem. This is driving me nuts ...

Thanks! Yours, Bo-Yin Yang
