ES1730 needs fixing?

I'm using 2.1.117 with the es1730 sound driver. I've noticed that if you try
to open the sound device more than once the call will lock up. And i've also
noticed that when heavily using SCSI with my BusLogic BT958 while using the
device the driver stops working totally..

Anybody got any explanations/ideas?
