You can override that with lilo.conf

boot=/dev/sda
...
disk=/dev/sda
bios=0x80

Sometimes need to do that because of IDE on the M/B, BIOS lets me boot
from SCSI but I have to tell lilo that sda is the boot disk. Cannot
help with the strange order though.
