2.1.115 and Cyrix detection

Okay, I looked over the FAQ, and it states that it's normal for a Cyrix
chip to be detected as a 486 chip. It points me to a site which talks
about a patch for the kernel to recognize the chip, but that patch is
against a very old version of the kernel (2.1.65), so I wonder if it
will apply (I seem to recall that it did not, last time I tried).

I also noticed that in 2.1.109, the CPU detection code was radically
changed, with the comment "This should finally get the Cyrix case right.
Please test."

There appears to be a lot of Cyrix detection and reporting code built
into this kernel (2.1.115).

Well, I am sad to say that my Cyrix is still not detected, and is
reported as a 486. Is anyone else using this chip and having it
reported correctly? What can I do to troubleshoot this?
