I cant find anything in the kernel config for 2.0.35 that relates to
printers or parallel ports, but when i boot into 2.0.35 the printer stops
working and i get a message like "xxx spooling, jobs stopped. Offline?" or
something like that. When I reboot into 2.0.33 the printing works fine.
Also, i get a slew of these messages at boot:

Aug 8 18:38:37 dollar kernel: ne.c:v1.10 9/23/94 Donald Becker (becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov)
Aug 8 18:38:37 dollar kernel: NE*000 ethercard probe at 0x280: 08 00 17 05 ec b3
Aug 8 18:38:37 dollar kernel: eth1: NE2000 found at 0x280, using IRQ 10.
Aug 8 18:38:47 dollar modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-4
Aug 8 18:38:47 dollar modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-5
Aug 8 18:38:47 dollar modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-4
Aug 8 18:38:48 dollar modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-5
....

any idea what the "net-pf" modules are?
