Cyrix MII and the TSC bug

I have been thinking about a post I saw (it was in response more or less
to one of mine) wherein it was stated that there is a better TSC work
around for Cyrix processors besides using slower get time functions.

My question is simple, have Linus, Dave, or Alan (or anyone who might
get it accepted into 2.1.x (probably too late for that now)) given a
reason why they don't like it, or why it hasn't been accepted?

Please, don't let this cause a long thread. It very well can be an
ultra short, nonflame war, answer.

Thanks,
Trever
