If you apply my time.c and smp.c patches CONFIG_PROFILE could return to
make a bit of sense but I' m not worryed about that.
BTW, if you like to _real_ profile the kernel it' s better that you apply
my hack of the patch-ikd (ftp://e-mind.com/pub/linux/kernel-patches/) and
enable also my GCC PROFILING. Then running readprofile you will really see
how many times a function (that may run also with interrupt disabled) is
been recalled (BTW2 in the same patch I developed also a kernel stack
meter)).
