OK, this does appear reproducible so we may be able to get somewhere.
By far the most important thing is to identify whether or not this is an
SMP issue. Could you compile for UP operation (comment out the SMP=1 in
linux/Makefile and rebuild) and see whether the problems persist? If
not, then linux-smp@vger.rutgers.edu is the next port of call.
