Any FB support for S3 cards on x86?

Hi

[Running 2.1.111 on Pentium machine]

I have a couple of machines with S3 Trio64 cards. The vga=ask parameter
only lists text modes for these boards and is unhappy when I try eg. 0303.
It does detect the board as Vesa but I'm not sure if the boards are 2.0
compliant ...

There does however appear to be direct support in the kernel source for
the S3 card but it looks like this is not meant for x86 at all :(

Is there anything I can do to see a cute penguin on bootup?

Perhaps I'm doing something stupid ... if it is supposed to work would
someone walk me through what I have to do/enable step by step please?

Thank you,
