No, I never seen this happen to me with older kernels. Maybe I didn't
notice but I cant reproduce it either now that I'm trying, so I don't
think it happened before.

This did happen (ie, 177 instead of a 199) but I was hoping for a fix on
the new code. After all, what would be the reason why 177 stays there?
