I'm not quite sure what triggered that--could have been someone trying to spawn
a shell in ytalk or someone telnetting in...

Also, there seems to be a console bug... minor vanity problem--when you try to
switch to a VT that is not already allocated, the screen stays put as it should
but the cursor disappears (further text displayed on the screen restores the
cursor)
