kmod problem returned

Hi,
2.1.111 pre-1 gave me...
<root>:/root# kmod: waitpid(1748,NULL,0) failed, returning -512.
Plus a kmod error when I started lpd, JUST like the previous incident a week or
two ago... a patch was posted but apparantly wasn't assimilated into the
mainstream kernel.
