Vid buffer prob under X in 2.1.109, 110

Hello... I've not seen any problem reports specific to this, so I'll venture
my own problem report.

I run under X 24 hrs a day, and with the recent 109 and 110 kernels I am seeing
the video buffer offset on occasion, such that the Xwindow desktop is offset.

This has happened while playing CD's with minor errors on them, and after
extendend periods unattended (a few hours). I have my Xserver setup to power
off after 30 minutes.

I've never seen this happen before 109 and 110.

I have a Tyan Tomcat IIID, dual P5-166mmx chips, 64mb memory, all IDE (4gig),
SB32 (doing nothing during these times), and a S3 Vision 864 2mb card, running
at 1152x900, 16bpp, 72hz. This video card is about 3 years old.

I'm running Xaccel v1.2, from the CND 1.0 package on top of RH 4.1 with
upgraded libc (5.4.44), gcc (2.7.2.3), et al. Xaccel is configured to use
my card as a "S3 Trio 64".

My machine is not heavily loaded with network or drive intensive work, although
it is cracking RC5 constantly on both CPUs.

At any rate, my box runs in the configuration perfectly for the last few
years, and I've only seen this video buffer shifting in .109 and .110. In
order to correct the problem, I have to switch to a text console and back to X.
I've verified it's a video buffer problem because the mouse still thinks things
are where they should be, so my window manager (fvwm) isn't flipping out.

I can perform additional testes if necessary.
