In case you are working on 2.1.X, you can take advantage of the new
modular console driver. Unfortunately, there is no documentation on it yet,
but if you tell me what hardware do you want to use (i.e., if it is a frame
buffer or a text mode console etc.), I'll be glad to explain how to write
a driver for it.
