Yes, when inodes are in cache 2.1.x seems 3 time faster than 2.0.x. If
things are not in cache 2.1.x is only a bit faster than 2.0.x. The fact is
that the most of the time I run `find` only one time ;-).

So it seems that the inode-max must be a function of the total memory of
the system.
