Grr. I have to take back what I had earlier said about the 2.1.109 ppp
changes. They are now causing no end of problems here. Observe, it's the
same exact symptoms that described:
pppd 2.3.5 started by stiker, uid 501

LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Looks like the new ppp code has a crush on ConfReq 0x1, eh?
Funny thing is though, this only happens after I forcefully kill pppd.
Everything is fine until 'ppp-off' is run, then it's LCP timeouts in
their full glory. And it won't work again 'til I reboot.
My crazy guess is that this is a strange interaction between the new
kernel code, and the old user-space pppd? Will check tonight.
