It would be nice to see which kernel started to perform bad. It would be
nice to have the same performance result for:

2.1.42
2.1.43 (then you can fsck your hd ;-)
2.1.50
2.1.60
.... maybe using log(n) time to find the patch that caused
the major bad performance increase.

I really have no time to do that :-( (nor I have older patches than
2.1.9x here).

I read some time ago that a guy said that bad performances started in 43
which insert the new dcache code. Are we really sure that the dcache code
is not the cause of this slowdown?
