autofs question

Is it expected that autofs will replace amd as 2.2 is released? I'm
using amd (actually am-utils). I use the '/net' which mounts all
exported stuff at once. This setup seems to be common on hpux and
sun, so I'm happily co-existing on the corporate lan.

AFAIK, autofs has no ability to handle this. Is this correct? How do
others cope?
