I've been having problems getting my floppy drive to work under 2.1.10x
(7-vger, 8, 8ac2, 9pre2). When I use 2.0.3x, it shows up as a National
Semiconductor PC87306, and works fine (stand RH5.1, updated and .35 built
w/ egcs-2.92.00), however any 2.1.10x I try (built w/ egcs-2.92.00,
.91.47, or 1.0.2) will crash on boot with the following:
Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.2M, <1>Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000668
current->tss.cr3 = 00101000, %cr3 = 0101000
*pde = 00000000
Opps: 0000
CPU: 0
EIP: 0010:[<c01dbf17>]
EFLAGS: 00210097
(more if needed)
Anyone have any pointers?
