testing release of procps (yes, on topic...)

Albert has released another version of his rewritten procps.

When I release the official version based on his work, I don't want to
hear ANY complaints about it from people who have not involved themselves
in testing the beta version... Therefore, if you care about the arguments
and/or output of ps and related utilities, I STRONGLY encourage you to
pick up a copy at http://www.cs.uml.edu/~acahalan/linux/procps-980713.tgz

Here's the truly on-topic part: Someone has released some ps and kernel
hacks to provide some SMP support. Last I knew, there were still kernel
patches required to use that version of ps fully on an smp system, and
I only integrate into the official procps versions patches that work with
official kernels. Albert is looking for folks to work with him on making
his rewrite understand SMP and threads. Since I intend to use his code
base as the basis for a new official release of procps at some time in
the reasonably near future, I'd like to encourage folks who are interested
in these areas to work with him.

Thanks,

michaelkjohnson
