Problems with 2.1.108 and cdrecord...

Anyone had any problems with xcdroast on newer kernels? I recently moved
to the 2.1.x series, and everything has gone fairly okay, except for
this. Here's the problem...

I've had a CD-RW drive on my workstation at work for about 6 months now.
I only use Linux on the workstation, and I've been using the latest
versions of xcdroast. It has been incredibly stable under 2.0.33 (RedHat
5.0), and haven't burnt one coaster.

Since I've upgraded to 1.0.10x (started with 1.0.102, I believe), I've
had a lot of problems (burnt 5 coasters last week, ack!). xcdroast
usually reports buffer failures, but sometimes doesn't report anything
at all. The console doesn't report any errors at all, afaik.

Note that this is sporadic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Usually when it doesn't, I have to reboot the system to get the CR-RW
drive back into a usuable condition. I am not seeing any other problems
with the SCSI chain.

System Info

Pentium 200 w/64mb ram
Buslogic BT-948 SCSI subsystem
Phillips Omniwriter (CD-RW)
RedHat 5.0
2.1.108 kernel (no ac patches)

Thanks,

jf
