Hi,

I have been using a Digital DS21140 Tulip for the last week or so and I
noticed that the 2.1.105 kernel reports incorrect statistics:

/proc/net/dev

Inter-| Receive | Transmit
face |bytes packets errs drop fifo frame compressed multicast|bytes packets errs drop fifo colls carrier compressed
eth0:66752478 71986 0 0 0 0 0 0 3724271 0 52627 0 0 0 52627 0

Notice that all transmits are recorded as errors & carrier errors
although the network works 100%.

In addition to those wrong statistics, everytime the interface is
ifconfig up'd, these kernel messages are being displayed. Don't know if
they are related or just debug information.

Jul 12 12:25:25 vortex kernel: eth0: Using user-specified media MII.
Jul 12 12:25:27 vortex kernel: eth0: MII monitoring tick: CSR12 ffffff00, MII status 780d, Link partner report 0000.

I don't feel comfortable in debugging network drivers, I bet someone
here does. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
