AHA1502 - serial problems

Hiya,
I recently picked up an Adaptec A[HV]-1502 controller (and a Seagate
Medalist) and discovered that under 2.1.108 I get relatively good performance
(3.65MB/s), but I drop all packets over my modem's PPP. Under 2.0.34 I get
lousy performance (1.5MB/s) but no packet loss. I've observed this under
multiple kernel builds with different compilers (and a distribution kernel).
I don't have time to parse linux-kernel myself, but I thought I should
mention it :)
