These errors are not present when compiling with:
egcs-2.91.45 19980702 (gcc2 ss-980609 experimental)

This one is compiled with --enable-haifa

Oh yes, it is almoast trivial to construct the egcs to have both
the original, and the Haifa scheduler in them.
