mcdx.o 1/10 performance

Copying 2 files of 1.5Mb each from a x2 cdrom drive (mcdx.o) to hd:

Linux ~83s ~38 Kb/s
DOS ~10s ~300 Kb/s

The driver does its work, but as you can see its painfully slow. Anyone
got an idea of why?
