Problem with init. [may be off-topic]

Sorry to bother this list, but I'm kind of desperate ( I tried all
relevant newsgroups and lists and got no answer).

I have installed glibc2, ld.so.1.9.9, binutils 2.8.1, and glibc5.4.44.
After that (everything everything seemed to be working fine except mount
*see below*) I rebuilt the kernel. Next time I rebooted, I got the
following error at kernel startup :

init: can't resolve symbol 'SYS_nfsservctl'
init: can't resolve symbol 'SYS_setresgid'
init: can't resolve symbol 'SYS_getresgid'
init: can't resolve symbol 'SYS_prctl'

and I have no idea what that means or what I've done wrong... Problem is
that the bootup stops there, and the only way to access my filesystem is
with a boot disk. I can't even use the boot disk to access my system
directly, or the same problem will occur. I have to use a root disk and
then mount my partitions, but since I don't know what the problem is or
how to fix it, I get stuck.

As I said before, I'm really sorry for bothering you people with this,
but I'm really clueless. And since I got no answer from the newsgroups
or the linux-config list, I was left with no other source.

Can anybody help me with this ?

Thanks a lot.

* After I installed the libraries and the binaries, everytime I shutdown
mount says that /dev/sda3 (my scsi hd partition for linux) is busy when
it's obviously not (every process was killed by the shutdown script).

Ps: My kernel version is 2.0.34 .

Ps2: I'm not in this list. ;-)
