This may or may not have any bearings on this, but is the Winbond a
W83781D ? If so, then I just recently wrote some user-space programs to
access it under Linux.

I was playing with the LM78 drivers (several versions), but wanted access
to the second and third temperature sensors which the winbond has (and the
LM7[58] doesn't.

If anyone is interested in the code, let me know, here's the (very simple)
output:
