linux-2.1.103 scsi-modules and aic7xxx hangs system

I'm using linux-2.1.103 with SCSI-modules. Everything seems to work
fine after I insmod the SCSI stuffs. After I rmmod the SCSI stuffs
things continue to work... but if I try to RE-insmod the SCSI stuff
then the system hangs hard. No pings no mouse moves no NOTHING! This
does not occur every time but 2 out of 3 at least.

BTW: I have an Adaptec 2940uw controller.
