Oops! Sorry. I misunderstood this point in my previous
message.

If being able to override the value of fpu_control is
important, I will clean up my changes to emulate the FPU
load control word on x86.

I think answers to the following questions might help
everyone involved in this discussion better estimate which
approach would be best:
On x86 On one other linux port?
Is the default floating point mode
different from IEEE? ? ?

In light of the answer to the first question, ? ?
is being able to override fpu_control at
link time important?
