I've just found that one of our print servers is dead; it's a stock
RH5.0 box with a module-less kernel:
486sx25, 8mb, 500mb ide disk, ne2k, no pci, etc.
running a lpd, samba and a caching named. When I approached it, the
screen was blanked, and refused to unblank. Dead to ping and anything
else which could perhaps have given some evidence of life.
It's now running a kernel which doesn't blank the screen, (at least, I
_think_ I removed the right lines in console.c :), so I shall post again
if anything else appears.
Matthew.
