102,103 kernels; Null pointer boot up crash

Hi,

I since I couldn't find a report of a similar error I'm posting it:

when I boot up with either 2.1.102 or 2.1.103, as the deamonds start up
*all* of them report NULL pointer exceptions (GPFs!!! Ah, the memories of
microsoft..) some worse then others. For example, ssh completely crashed
the system, but when I removed it, several program attempt to run before it
finally crashes on setting the firewall rules. (IP-masquerading, actually)

This is a 4-processor (pent 100's) system with a 128megs of ram. None of
the 2.1 kernels have worked since 2.1.89 (In fact I'm using it now).
Installed is RH5 with the errata updates and several contrib RPMs.

Email me if you'd like logs, debugging information, more system
information.. etc.
