v2.1.102 OOPS on shutdown -r now

Hi guys,

I just got a OOPS when I executed a shutdown -r now. This resulted in some
damage to my /home partition. I rebooted and then it executed a fsck on
both / and /home partitions. It failed to fsck cleanly, and was left in a
single user mode.

I ran fsck.ext2 manually and repaired the minor (I hope) filesystem
damage, rebooted again. This cleared the filesystem. (phew - time to take
a tape backup now - haven't done that for 4 days). Prior to the OOPS,
v2.1.102 had been up and running for 4 days, with some extremely heavy use
(been busy porting a core application to Linux).

Unfortunately I could not record the OOPS before the damn machine
rebooted, neither was it logged in the system logs. :o(

BTW, I just noticed that I get a lost interrupt on boot-up - excerpt from
syslogs as follows:

May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: hda: ST32140A, ATA DISK drive
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: hdd: IRQ probe failed (0)
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: hdd: IRQ probe failed (0)
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: hdd: CD220E, ATAPI CDROM drive
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: hdd: IRQ probe failed (0)
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: ide1: unexpected interrupt, status=0xff, count=1
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
May 19 01:41:35 tahallah kernel: hdd: ATAPI 67X CDROM CD-R drive, 4669kB Cache

There's one thing to note about the CDROM - it's definitely a CD220E, but
the speed rating is incorrect, it's actually a 2X CDROM.
