2.1 kernels that work on ALPHA ???

I have a Digital Personal Workstation 500a which I have installed RH5.0 on
however I have not been able to successfully compile any of the later
2.1.xx kernels.

I keep getting errors in the compile. I am using the "miata" machine
types as this is what I successfully used to install RedHat.

Has anyone got any of the later 2.1.xx kernels working on "miata" hardware
????

I have tried a range of kernels from 2.1.90 to 2.1.102 without any
success.
