Anyone noticed a huge difference in speed/responsiveness between kernels
2.0.32 and 2.0.34pre11b with the 3c59x.c driver?

I compiled both kernels with exactly the same configurations and compared
ping responsiveness between the two kernels.

3c59x (local ethernet)
2.0.32: ~2.1 ms
2.0.34p11b: ~49.8 ms <--- ALMOST 50 TIMES LESS RESPONSIVE!!!

ne2000 (internet, ping site located several miles away)
2.0.32: ~4.2 ms
2.0.34pre11b: ~4.2 ms

These results were performed about 3 minutes apart and are consistent.
They are not due to high network traffic only with the 2.0.34pre11b
kernel.

Since there is no difference in the ne2000 driver between the two kernel
versions, there must be a problem with the 3c59x.c(v0.99) code. I tried
copying the 0.49H version for kernel 2.1.98, but it won't compile with
kernel 2.0.32. I have yet to try it with 2.0.34pre11b.
