hmm, i had this in 2.0.33 ocassionally with an awe64. not sure what it is.
if it doesn't come back, sounds to me like it's not closing properly.
probably the program. check for it with ps.

while we're on the topic of sound...

i've noticed some new strangeness in 2.1.98. i hit ^c in amp (mp3 player)
and it exits, but sound keeps going for another 2 seconds. any ideas on
that one?
