Perhaps I misunderstood you. If you don't want the Linux boxen to actually
_use_ the SMB shares, but just to route the IPX protocol, then you should be
fine.

Get the IPX routing daemon from
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/ncpfs/ipxripd-0.7.tgz
If you're using glibc, you'll need the patch at
ftp://dwmw2.robinson.cam.ac.uk/pub/linux/ipxripd-0.7.glibc.patch

Most of it arrived in ncpfs-2.0.12.4 and ncpfs-2.0.12.6
