Is there a (good) reason linux doesn't reply to ICMP echo request
packets with the DF bit set ?
For some reason ping-ing linux boxes from solaris does not work, while
ping-ing from a linux box in the same subnet (with the solaris
machine) works.
The only diference I could see with tcpdump is that packets coming
from the solaris machine have DF set while those coming from linux
don't. For the "solaris" pings, no reply packet is generated ...
("regular" size pings, not bigger than MTU ...)
