Hi!

Some days ago i've found a kernel patch for 2.0.x that make dead keys
work in raw mode, the patch create new scan codes on keyboard, and we
change the /usr/lib/X11/xkb/keymap/xfree86 (or equivalent) and the
.Xmodmap files, and the X will treat that codes as a single key, making
accented chars in any application. This is very usefull for applications
that don't have support for i18n (internationalization).

Here is some list of this applications: StarOffice, Netscape, Gimp, and
others (maybe ApplixWare, I will know about this because my copy is
comming soon).

In portuguese, and another languages that have accented characters, this
is necessary, because until I've found this patch, I've used
Win95+Winword to make my resume, and letters.

Someone have plans to add features like this on kernel?

Forgive me please if this are already on developers release.

Regards (and sorry by my bad english)
