dev_tint() in pre-2.1.90-3 ??

I just noticed that the pre-2.1.90-3 patch re-inserted an
extern void dev_tint(struct device *dev) in linux/include/linux/netdevice.h.

Was this done by accident? (this call was removed from the kernel sources
recently)
