Maybe I'm off topic, but that's my problem: my machine hangs while booting
since I've installed 96MB instead of 32MB. It does so just after scanning
the harddisks and the first IDE-Channel (ide0). I've had the same problem
with 32MB before using kernel 2.1.72, so maybe it has something to do with
those patches for Mac-Clones (mine is a Motorola StarMax) with
IDE-peripherals.
