NFS errors at boot with 2.1.85

Howdy all,

I am getting some strange NFS (and possibly some non-NFS?) errors at boot
time. Does anyone know what this is all about?:

> nfs warning: mount version older than kernel
> portmap: RPC call returned error 61
> RPC: task of released request still queued!
> RPC: (task is on xprt_pending)
> portmap: RPC call returned error 61
> RPC: task of released request still queued!
> RPC: (task is on xprt_pending)
> lockd_up: makesock failed, error=-61
> portmap: RPC call returned error 61
> RPC: task of released request still queued!
> RPC: (task is on xprt_pending)

That is the short version of it as this occurs for each and every NFS
mount listed in /etc/fstab. So far it appears to be merely cometic as NFS
and everything else seems to work following the boot, but I get these
funky errors that add a few minutes to boot time (is something timing
out?). Any ideas? Again this is kernel v2.1.85 running on an AlphaPC164LX.

This is my first attempt at a developement kernel and other than those
NFS errors it appears to be running great. My hat's off to all the Linux
Hacker's and of course Linus himself!

One other question, I have noticed for the first time there is SMP support
in the Linux kernel. I'm just curious how functional this is and if it is
still in it's 'infant' stages. Is it very stable and functional?

Thanx for any help!
