Hiya all.

I am curious - how are the values in /proc/loadavg calculated?

'man w' reveals, that it is the load averaged over the last 1, 5
and 15 minuted.

Somewhere I have read, that the load is calculated as the
"average number of processes in the run queue".... (or it could
just have been the voices in my head?)

Somehow I find the information a little sparse, and any pointers
to information will be greatly appreciated.

If the question _is_ offtopic, then accept my apologies in
advance.

Thanks
