Could some expert tell me why I get significantly better throughput
with http than ftp ?
[I think the ratio has got worse with more recent linux-2.1.*'s,
thought that is only a feeling.]
I am running Linux on an ancient Pentium with IDE discs,
and as far as I can see ftp is interrupted by disc-transfers.
Is that nonsense?
