Quota and 'rm -r' on 2.1

Dear Linux enthusiasts,

I've seem to have found a reproducible problem with quotas under 2.1. When
I 'rm -r' a large directory on an Ext2 filesystem with user quotas, the rm
process gets stuck. ps shows STAT D.

How should I proceed now to find where the stuck process is stuck?

I do not have these problems on non-quota filesystems or under 2.0. I
think I have these problems since at least 2.1.70 and upto 2.1.84 (the
last version I've tested).

Thanks,
