Maybe, maybe not. Using a single server isn't optimal, by any means,
but the linux-*@vger.rutgers.edu lists are so low-volume (compared to
most of Usenet) that a news server serving them would run almost
completely out of cache, and should be able to move pretty quickly.

Hmm. It is possible to use RAID-1 between a physical drive and a big
ramdisk, and only read from RAM?
